The markets are a lot like life:
Some days are better than others.
There’s no magic formula to life, to success, or even to happiness. It’s all a process and more often than not, a difficult one at that!
Heck the medical field thrives on folks with anxiety and depression. There’s prescriptions to be written and therapy to be had.
Now I realize all of those conditions exist and can be medically treated.
However, I also believe that a lot of it can be overcome within one’s self through processing, prayer and meditation.
People forget their minds need to be conditioned to deal with difficulties just as much as their bodies need to be trained for endurance.
Everyone is different, there is no right or wrong way to condition your mind or body. But you do have to commit to doing whatever works for you.
For some folks, they clear their mind through physical activity. Perhaps they take the dog for a walk or go out for a casual jog.
Whereas others might find themselves using meditation methods. Maybe it’s the peace and quiet your back deck offers that allows you to relax.
Many cling to their faith. They pray and ask for guidance from the Lord.
As long as you have the ability within yourself to find what works best, I encourage you to employ it as often as it’s needed.
Having a clear mind, and approaching the markets with a level head is the only way to succeed in this business.
I will tell you the truth, trading is hard – it’s designed to be. Otherwise everyone would be doing it and printing money like the government does.
It takes a great deal of mental endurance to trade day in and day out. If it becomes too much, limit your exposure. Only trade 2 or 3 days a week.
If something in your life is off balance, do not trade at all until whatever that imbalance is has been corrected.
What might seem minor and insignificant at the time, could turn your brokerage account upside down really quickly.
I do my best to bring stability to my traders every single day.
If the market isn’t cooperating with us, I tell them. What they do with that information I share with them is beyond my control.
But I am there to share my experience so they can see the market through my eyes daily!
