The social media landscape is increasingly controlled by a small group of powerful corporations that have a vested interest in censoring dissenting voices.
This censorship is not only harmful to free speech, but it also undermines our democracy.
I touched on this topic just a few days ago.
The fact of the matter is, just like our government is controlled by a higher power – so are the press, media, and social platforms.
Everything we see and hear is skewed toward what they want us to be exposed to.
Some call these statements “conspiracy theory”, I call it a provable truth!
In recent months, we’ve seen a number of examples of how social media companies have censored certain voices.
Facebook banned
Trump from the platform after the January 6th Capitol riot — a decision that was widely criticized by free speech advocates, who argued it was a clear violation of Trump’s First Amendment rights.
We’re told our country is a constitutional republic, but the constitution is constantly being questioned and re-written.
We’re told we live in a state of democracy, when in fact all those supposedly in power are just puppets for those who are really controlling everything behind the scenes.
The fact of the matter is, if Meta Platforms were to pick a fight with the GOP, Zuckerturd likely walks away unharmed.
And sure enough, the cowardly Republicans backed off.
Even if the GOP goes after Meta Platforms, Zuckerturd is in the clear, given that the press and corporate America want him to censor more of what We The People see, not less.
Thursday, GOP Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan pulled back from holding Zuckerturd in Contempt of Congress.
He claimed, “they received new documents”.
Tweeting:
“Never-before-released internal documents subpoenaed by the Judiciary Committee PROVE that Facebook and Instagram censored posts and changed their content moderation policies because of unconstitutional pressure from the Biden White House.”
At this time, he’s leaving the option of holding Zuckerturd in Contempt of Congress open for the future.
Yet it’s difficult not to see this as a blink as the White House is hardly going to side with the GOP on this, given that the Republicans are blaming President Biden himself.
META was up more than 4% on Thursday.
In the long run, the stock market does in fact reflect financial realities.
It also appears to reflect the realities of political power.
Let’s see what the GOP does next, but I doubt they have the brass to do much…
Of course, the GOP has been critical of social media censorship, and has called for more transparency from these companies.
However, the GOP has been reluctant to take any real action against social media companies — likely because the GOP is afraid of alienating the tech industry, which is a major source of campaign donations.
I don’t know what’s coming next… but I do know I’m ready to take advantage of whatever the market throws our way. If you’d like to learn how you can join me, click here.
