This applies to all corners of our lives, personally and professionally. Let’s face it — we’re all human. We live and learn by design.
Believe it or not, there’s a pretty simple formula for success. Unfortunately, most people manage to complicate it. Learn from yesterday, do better today … rinse and repeat.
Some are born with natural, God-given talents that others just do not have. But for the most part, success is earned through trials and tribulations.
More often than not, it’s a painful learning curve. One that few overcome. There’s a reason they call them “one percenters.”
It takes time, effort, consistency and discipline to be successful… and a little bit of luck never hurt anyone either.
But for the most part, very few are able to put in the kind of work needed to reach their goals. It becomes too much and they lose their drive.
Do you think Tiger Woods became the world most recognized golfer because he went to the driving range whenever he felt like it?
Or do you think he put in an ungodly amount of time working with his trainers and practicing until his hands were bleeding?
I’d bet on the latter.
It’s no different than the best traders that exist on Wall Street. They’ve soaked up knowledge and experience from those who came before them.
They’ve also put in the time and discipline to master a skill set — one that they are and will remain a student of until their last breath.
Putting that kind of commitment into any area in which you desire to be the best truly requires more of yourself than you’d ever think you have to give. Should you fall short, you won’t achieve your full potential.
So like everything in life, it comes down to a choice. Are you a student of the trading skillset? Are you willing to put the time and effort in? Are you willing to accept your losing trades without losing control of your emotions?
Or are you wishy washy about your commitment to your trading goals? Did you fire up a Robin Hood account and think this was going to be easy?
Some days and some trades will be easy. It’ll be like taking candy from a child while they’re not even looking.
Other days will chop you up. Can you handle all of the above?
If you’re looking to trade with someone so you can point blame when a trade doesn’t go the way you want it to, I’m respectfully not your guy!
I can assure you that continuing your trading studies will be challenging, but with those lessons, there will be blessings that come along with them!
