December 25th, 336 AD.
That was the first recorded Christmas celebration.
The date was chosen because it’s nine months after the Annunciation, which celebrates Christ’s conception in the womb of the Virgin Mary, on March 25.
The tradition has carried on for thousands of years.
Not just as a significant event for Christians… but because the birth of Jesus Christ marks a time of joy, compassion, and celebration for millions worldwide.
And for investors?
This is an excellent time to be in the markets because this holiday season coincides with institutional cash flow that creates year-end profit opportunities.
According to the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, Jesus was born to Mary, a virgin, and Joseph, a carpentar, in a manger, surrounded by shepherds and animals.
This portrayal symbolizes the significance of Jesus’s birth in a humble setting.
But aside humility, love, kindness, and hope, another Christmas virtue I love is the act of gift-giving, symbolized by the three wise men’s gifts to Jesus.
I’ve always been a big believer in generosity, but as a trader, I’ve started to think about the long-term value of my gifts to loved ones. For example, instead of a pony for my niece, I could gift her shares of three lucrative stocks in my portfolio.
By the time she’s 18, these investments could be worth 6-figures or more.
Not bad, right?
I think it’s something worth looking into if you haven’t already.
Finally, as we look forward to the New Year, remember that the spirit of spreading love, kindness, joy, unity, and goodwill transcends this holiday season.
Perhaps it’s a refreshing reminder of how we should live daily.
And not just once every year.
Wishing you a blessed day,
