I’ve found that most people’s WHY is triggered by a significant event in their lives… something that caused them to change their standards.
Today I want to share my WHY with you. I know most publishers don’t get personal, but I’m not most publishers.
At a young age I realized life can take you down several paths.
Hard paths that typically resulted in the greatest rewards later on and easy paths that lead to the rather ordinary and status quo.
Like all hard choices, I decided to embark on the harder paths of life as I desired to obtain the greater rewards later down the road.
Many would think that the greatest rewards are monetary. For me that couldn’t be further from the truth. For me it’s about FREEDOM. That’s it!
Sure — that freedom is obtained by wealth, but wealth wasn’t and still isn’t the goal. A life I can live on my terms is the only thing that matters to me!
So you may ask WHY is this FREEDOM so important to me?
Well, 10 years ago yesterday my mom lost her 4+ year battle to cancer. At 52 years of age she was taken from us.
Like I stated earlier, there’s typically a significant event that triggers such a change in one’s path. Not that I was on a bad path, just not the right one.
The right path for me was a path that allowed me not to miss the most memorable events my life will have to offer.
While some may think it’s insignificant to miss your goddaughters first day of school or a round of golf with your dad, even a date with your wife . . .
To me, those events are the most important things my life is made of!
My folks worked hard, 7 days a week for decades to raise our family. That came with A LOT of sacrifice. Missed events, vacations, even holidays.
So when I decided that FREEDOM was my life’s objective, I was able to find that through trading.
It doesn’t matter if I’m day trading a 3 minute chart or swing trading a weekly chart or anywhere in between. It’s afforded me FREEDOM!
A long time ago I learned a very important lesson: Never focus on the money, only focus on the vision. The money is only a byproduct.
Yesterday I visited my mom at the cemetery. I placed my hand upon her grave knowing these past 10 years that every single day I’ve taken a step closer to the FREEDOM I set out to achieve, triggered by the loss of her.
I don’t know if you’ve experienced a significant event that will trigger you to do something differently or not. But if you haven’t, I can assure you that someday you will. If FREEDOM is your desire, I’d love to work with you…
